I produced and edited this film for the international charity, Sightsavers, to highlight the work that has been achieved thanks to funding from the UK government thanks to UK Aid Match.
Meet ophthalmologist, Dr Gladys Atto, as she takes us through Karamoja, Uganda, and explains the extensive improvements in inclusive eye health services which are helping to transform the lives of the 1.2 million people who live in the region.

Letters from Malawi
I produced and edited this film for the international charity, Sightsavers, to celebrate Malawi's historic achievement in eliminating trachoma. Letters from Malawi is a finalist in the 2024 Smiley Charity Film Awards.
We worked with students of an after-school club to write letters to people in their community who had played a part in the elimination of trachoma. At the end of the letters, they asked their recipients to write letters or send messages to someone who had inspired them in the fight to combat this blinding eye disease.

No Matter What
The first time Erin Hains got intoxicated was at 14 years old, from that moment forward Hains began abusing substances. After struggling for years with addiction she is now three years clean. As a mother, Hains works every day to be the best version of herself and strives to practice and teach integrity.
"I want to be very open, vulnerable, loving, caring and not afraid. The most important things are my values, because if I'm not living within my values I am finding pain. When I am living within my values I feel good about myself and I feel pride," said Hains.
I produced, filmed and edited this project for my capstone photojournalism class. It was also featured in Syracus University’s Family. Life. project.
